Meera Gudipati currently holds the co-principal flute position with the United States Coast Guard Band and the South Asian Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Gudipati was the acting principal flute with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Gudipati serves as the flute faculty for Wesleyan University, Connecticut College, and in the summer at the National Orchestral Institute & Festival.

As a musical ambassador for the United States and India, Gudipati performed in "Spirit of South Asia" a 2021 digital gitanjali (musical offering) by the musicians of the South Asian Symphony Orchestra. In Ocotber 2019, Gudipati traveled to Bangalore, India as principal flute for "Peace Notes," a four-hour concert celebration of peace in honor of the late Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birthday.

In addition to exploring her South Asian heritage through performance, Gudipati incorporates Indian classical music in her compositions. Her commission by Lauren Williams, Ashakiran for Solo English Horn, draws on raag Bhairavi and can be heard on Jacqueline Leclair's album "Music for English Horn Alone". The Yale Music in Schools program commissioned Gudipati for a reed quintet, Kalyan’s Journey, featuring Indian raag Kalyan. Javārī Ratios for flute and electronics was commission by NYC flutist Leo Sussman, who premiered it online at The John Donald Robb Composers' Symposium.

Gudipati also commissioned numerous works for solo flute including electronics by Soomin Kim, Samantha Wolf, and Ariel Horowitz. Gudipati aims to form a more meaningful new music experience. Gudipati's passion for the outdoors and music lead her to start MuseOut, which seeks to build a more welcoming hiking and new music community through collaborating with  underrepresented composers and performers to perform concerts in nature.

Gudipati graduated with a masters in music degree from the Yale School of Music and a bachelor of music degree from the University of Texas at Austin, studying with Ransom Wilson and Marianne Gedigian respectively.

Gudipati won 1st prize in numerous national competitions including the Orchestral Audition Competition and Masterclass at the National Flute Association, the 2014 Kentucky Collegiate Flute Competition, and the Young Artist Competition at the 2013 Florida Flute Association Convention. As a freshman, she was selected as the Density 21.5 by Edgar Varèse competition winner and performed the solo in Bates Hall. With an enthusiasm for early music, Gudipati held the second traverso position with the Austin Baroque Ensemble and principal traverso with the UT Early Music Ensemble. An admirer of art, Gudipati performs in many museums in Austin and New Haven with various chamber music ensembles. Gudipati was born in Düsseldorf, Germany and grew up playing recorder, piano, and flute at the Clara-Schumann Musikschule. After moving to the U.S., Gudipati continued studying flute at the Peabody Preparatory with Rachel Choe and at the Colburn School of Performing Arts with Karen Lundgren.
